Road to Brazil: Greece to Face Bolivia at Red Bull Arena

Posted on February 28, 2014

It looks like Portugal won't be the only World Cup participant warming up for Brazil within the New York metropolitan area.

Today, MLS announced that Greece will face Bolivia in a World Cup tune-up at Red Bull Arena on Fri., June 6. The three-time European qualifiers are just one of several nations participating in the seven-game series dubbed Road to Brazil---other tournament-bound countries include Honduras, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and Spain while non-qualifying nations include Turkey, Israel, and El Salvador.

Greece, who were drawn into a difficult group alongside Colombia, Ivory Coast, and Japan, will join Portugal as the only sides visiting NYC before the World Cup. As announced several weeks ago, Cristiano Ronaldo and his countrymen will face Ireland in MetLife Stadium on June 10.
